The Last Couple of Weeks.

Yeah Heather Graduated on May 15th.  Not bad, graduating in May having a baby in July.   Dave and I are so proud of her.   Not everyone has a baby shower on Saturday and graduates on Sunday of the same weekend.  Sully Sullenberger spoke at Heather's graduation.  Such a good speech from a humble man.   He spoke of the flight that landed on the Hudson, which he was the pilot.  He gave all credit to the whole flight crew on that plane.   Sullenberger received his second degree from Purdue University in 1973 in Industrial Psychology. 

 

Got the opportunity to watch Kaden and Karina over the weekend, Travis and Cami attended a wedding in Indy.

Love my grandkids to death and it was so much fun!  Kaden is back to 10 hours at home with dialysis.   He seems more like his old self.   Kaden and I did a lot of racing on the WII

Schatzi, their dog, thinks when I come that I am there to play.  She jumps on me and barks when I don't pay

attention to her. 

The last couple of days have been fun, except for the mini tornado in Francesville.  I went and spent the afternoon with my aunt yesterday, the 25th.  Always love doing that.  Ran into my parents house today after the wind damage to see what I could do to help.  Thankfully the damage was minimal.  I went to lunch with them at Todd's.  That was wonderful, saw friends there I hadn't seen in a while.   Then I headed to Wheatfield and went to garage sales with Sandy Hershman in DeMotte.  Heather benefits from that trip.  Found so many cute clothes for her baby.  We also found some must haves at another garage sale, lots of yard ornaments, plants,  cute household items, and nick nacks.   I was supposed to go to Monticello with  Deb Nedza in the evening but chose to not go because of the weather.  We did meet at Todd's again instead.   Another great visit.   Rain, wind, rain......tornadoes, will it ever end.  Scary!!

Friends are the Best

Just thinking today how thankful I am for friends.  Some I have had for years and some not so long.  That was my reason for starting Facebook, to keep in touch with people that I have met along the way.    It is so great to keep in touch. 

I have a friend that I have to say I have had the longest, Brenda.  We started being friends in middle school and I just won't mention how long that friendhip has actually been.  I am feeling pretty old today, without mentioning that.   I spent the last several days with Brenda.  Her mother had recently transitioned to an assisted living apartment.  I have to say it is the nicest I have ever seen and it is within walking distance from where Brenda lives.  Last Friday while getting up to go to the bathroom, she fell and broke her hip.   She had to have surgery on Mother's Day. 

I went to Brenda's to try and be some support and I think we uplifted each other.   We spent a lot of time at the hospital and Blanche, Brenda's Mom, has not lost her sense of humor.  She told us that the reason Brenda wanted me there was so Brenda could boss me around.  We laughed.  I also got so tickled at her while watching "Dancing With the Stars" she was really making some comments on the dancing going on.   The dancing, moves, and costumes can really be a little risque, so understandably her comments are justified. 

She was moved to the rehab area yesterday, hope she is able to handle what they want her to do so she can get back to "The Lodge", her home now.  She seems so sweet, yet so frail!!!

Life is short and Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; But by the moments that take our breath away…..

I couldn't live without my friends........love them.   Time with them takes my breath away.   The Lord has provided me with wonderful friends and I can't express enough how thankful I am for them.
